Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre (ALAC)

The Advocacy & Legal Advice Center (ALAC) is a free legal advice center for victims and witnesses of corruption and human rights violation. ALAC acts as a platform for citizens to voice out their grievances and assists them in pursuing their complaints. It is hoped that with the help of ALAC, citizens are also empowered to translate their complaints into structural change. In addition to legal aid, ALAC also undertakes advocacy on broader reform for enhanced transparency, accountability and integrity of public institutions such as its work on right to information, and whistleblowing. Public campaigns highlighting individual stories, outreach programs to create citizen demand for social accountability and capacity building institutions on good governance through trainings are some of the activities that ALAC undertakes amongst a host of others.
