Transparency Maldives is a non-political organization that promotes collaboration, awareness and other initiatives to improve governance and eliminate corruption from the daily lives of people. Our organization is the National Contact of Transparency International (TI) in the Maldives. We received formal registration from the Ministry of Home Affairs on 19 July 2007.
We aim to be a constructive force in the Maldives by encouraging discussion on transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption. Transparency Maldives seeks to engage with stakeholders from all sectors (government, business, politics, civil society, media, among others) to raise awareness on corruption’s detrimental effects on development and society.
Although based in Male’, the country’s capital, we view fighting corruption, increasing transparency and accountability, and improving governance as national issues and our activities extend to the islands.
