Transparency Maldives (TM), in collaboration with Project ThimaaVeshi (PTV) conducted a comprehensive perception study examining perceptions and attitudes towards urban development in Addu City. This research explores how residents in Addu view the intersection of urban growth and environmental sustainability in the Maldives’ second-largest urban center. The study analyzes community perspectives on development priorities, environmental concerns, and sustainable planning approaches, providing valuable insights into balancing economic growth with environmental preservation in the Maldives. The findings contribute to understanding public sentiment regarding urban development practices and offer recommendations for environmentally conscious development strategies in Addu City and the broader Maldives.
