CLIMATE FINANCE GOVERNANCE STANDARDS COUNTRY REPORT – MALDIVES

To work towards minimum standards of climate finance governance, Transparency International, Adaptify, and Brown University began working under the AdaptationWatch partnership to design a new approach to raise governance performance for climate adaptation finance. A conceptual framework and methodology were designed in collaboration with Transparency Maldives and Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB). Key stakeholders from government, business, and civil society were involved in the process to agree on standards for good governance. Governance processes that can be employed to improve performance to achieve these standards was also discussed.

This report discusses the overall climate finance governance approach, builds on the results of the study done in the Maldives, and discusses the next steps for improving and sharing this approach widely.
